This church was consecrated by pastor Monseigneur Willem Mutsaerts in 1930. This place of worship at the Theresiaplein had been designed by Hendrik Valk and Caspar van den Beld, who had been inspired by roman and gothic architecture. However, references to the works of architects Kropholler and Berlage can also be found.

In the seventies the church escaped closure and was renovated in 1980. However, in 1997 it was closed nonetheless. In those days there was some upheaval, because the diocese had order the church administration to single-handedly demolish the stone stations of the cross. Later on, the church was divided into a number of apartments.
